15 CORE brothers posted in the soupy gloom to get better. No one signed up to Q, so YHC grabbed the reins last night and no one seemed to mind.
Recon lap up through the Temple, down the stairs past the AG Band Nerd building, through Harper Valley lot and back to start. #Foreshadowing
COP (SSH x20, IW x20, Copperhead squats x 15, Mountain climbers x15, 10 Burpees OYO)
Partner up for Catch Me if You Can, no KB required. P1 runs the Recon lap, P2 does 5 crossfit merkins and gives chase. When tagged, P1 does 5 crossfits and P2 moves on. Keep going for 3 total laps. This was surprisingly difficult for many pax to comprehend. Easier with KBs I guess.
Rinse and repeat with 5 SSH this time.
Mosey down the long and winding road to the Selwyn blacktop. P1 runs Stairway to Heaven while P2 does called exercise. Flapjack. Audible after round 1 to halfway up the stairway in the interest of time. Stairway to Purgatory, maybe?
- Heels to Heaven
- Trailer park merkins
- WW2 situps
Mosey back up the hill to Senator Ramos’ annex.
3 stations of 10 dips, 10 derkins, 10 jump ups. 3 rounds
To Senator Ramos’ Office for Mary (LBC, Rosalita, Oblique L/R, Dolly)
AYG back to start
Nice work out there today by everyone. Lots of Respect, 2x Respect and one 3x Respect amongst the pax, as well as a HateHateHate. As @DRM would say, that is Battery Acid Strong
Today would’ve been the day to revisit the epic @Today vs. @Starfish Sweat Contest. Those two would’ve flooded the Barclay Downs neighborhood if they had posted today. @Pigskin looked like he could give them a run for their money too, the way he looked afterwards.
Yes, the humidity was jacked up, but the pax barely complained. Once again, the Men of CORE are weatherproof. Speaking of weatherproof pax, where was @Grapevine? Pretty sure I got a little heart thingy from him in response to my preblast tweet last night. Doesn’t that qualify as an #HC? Need a #Millennial to confirm the social media rules.
Missing lots of regulars today (@Rev, @DRM, @Skoal, @Rocket Man, @VW, @Midget, @Sharona, @Starfish, @Grapevine). Could be due to vacations, could be the humidity, could be mid-summer fartsacking or maybe they were just plain skeered when they saw I grabbed the Q last night since no one else did. No, that’s probably not it.
Played some music today. Wanted to put together a creative playlist like @Starfish always does, but didn’t have it in me. Went with The Holdouts first set for Thursday night plus a few extras that I just like to listen to:
Wildflower (The Cult)
Hard to Handle (Black Crowes)
Banditos (The Refreshments)
Surrender (Cheap Trick)
Are You Gonna Be My Girl? (Jet)
My Generation (The Who)
Rockin’ in the Free World (Pearl Jam cover)
Jumpin Jack Flash (Stones)
Scarred But Smarter (Drivin N Cryin)
Don’t Change (INXS)
Trip Through Your Wires (U2)
