So i put a call in yesterday afternoon to Freeloader. Some of you may remember him? Old man, but looked 10yrs younger than he really was and ran like the wind? Well, those days are past. He went from some sort of weird foot surgery to now preparing for a meniscus clean-up. He was one of the best…but no more. He’s succumbed to mornings of Ensure and evenings with Depends. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he was spotted at a top secret “off-the-books” old slow man workout this morning instead of dusting off his former self and rocking one of his old workouts.
Speaking of workouts, it went something like this: ~1 mile repeats, over a road course, with a 1min recovery between each…and do that 6 times. 7 miles all told. Sub-4 and Swampy out front, CMD and Federalist in the next group (Ewok sandbagging), Cindy and Matlock doing a freeplay of sorts, and then the rest of us somewhere sorta close.
But a huge thanks to Nash for his leadership as i think we all just like letting him boss us around at SIB. No malicious selfishness in my reticence to lead, i just think he does a great job and i know i’m crushed when i leave.
Thanks to Matlock for the take-out, thanks to the diversity of motivators and their motivating ways at F3, and in all seriousness, a good luck to Freeloader with his upcoming surgery and hope to see him out there again soon.
