Remember to wear deodorant

A strong 17 were pleasantly surprised by the break in the storms to get their Wednesday off to a good, muggy, and sweaty start at this week’s edition of Bandit.

Here’s what we did:

Wait for HE to get out of his car.

Mosey to the top of the parking deck at corner of East and Kings for quick COP:  SSH’s x 20 IC, mountain climbers x 15 IC, merkins x 15 IC

Carefully cross Kings and head toward uptown, stopping twice to gather the Pax for some burpees and squats (10 burpees, 15 squats ; 15 burpees, 20 squats).

Press the button for the walk signal to cross Morehead (receive a few jeers from the Pax – safety first) and gather at the bottom of Terrible Torrence.

Run to the top of the Torrence hill at the intersection with Ranlo (~0.4 mi), stopping at each intersection (total of 5) for escalating merkins and squats (starting with 5 and 10 at first intersection).  Total of 75 merkins and 100 squats.

A good round of Mary to gather the six:  LBC’s x 30 IC, flutter x 20 IC, Dolly x 20 IC, and Russian Twists x 20 IC.

Mosey to the bottom of Torrence.  Plank.  Backwards run up to first intersection, mosey down.  Repeat.  Burpees for the Six at the bottom of Torrence.

Start heading back on Kings.  Stop at Coniston Place, AYG to Queens Road (sneaky long – just under a quarter mile).

Head back down Coniston and to the AO, AYG from the corner of Kings/East.  Arrival time ~6:14.  Burpees for a minute.

Total mileage ~4.

With the unpredictable weather we’ve been having, I was not sure what to plan for today or how many Pax would show up.  I planned two workouts depending on the weather, but I’m glad we were able to stay outside this morning.  It was great to get back out after being on the road and the holiday weekend, but boy was it muggy.

That climb up Torrence sneaks up on you, especially the last segment up to the top of the hill.  I didn’t realize how many cars would be on that road at 5:45 am – sorry about that, fellas.  With a little time to kill on the way back, AYG up Coniston was pretty tough as well.  Everyone finished strong though.

Strong crew as usual today.  Curly, Paula, and HE spent their time at the front of the group, being pushed by none other than Pusher and Doobie right there as well, providing the mumblechatter.

It was good to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.  Thanks for the opportunity, Fox.

    Great Q Snots. I think we all needed that sweat detox after the long weekend. It’s 1:42pm EST and I’m still sweating.
