PURPOSE: A group run with festivities afterwards. This is not a race.
WHO: Anyone who has a desire to run/walk/hike and explore the trail system at our fingertips known as The Backyard Trails. Each segment will be marked and there are Pax who know the trails well. Stick together to stay on course!
WHAT: There will be 3 course segments that all start and finish at the parking lot on the Greenway on Tyvola. You can run these segments at any time. However, the Q of each segment will lead you out there at the appointed time.
– Segment #1. 6am start. Headlamps required. This segment will be marked and curated by Chairthrower. 4 miles.
– Segment #2. 7am start. Headlamps encourage. This segment will be marked and curated by GOP. 7 miles.
– Segement #3. 8:15 start. This segment will be marked and curated by FakeNews. 4.5 miles.
WHEN: Saturday 10/30 6am with a 10 minute pre run safety meeting.
WHERE: Little sugar creek greenway 2524 Tyvola Road. Additional parking across the street at Queens University Recreation Center.
The THANG: Come run/walk/hike all of the segments or just 1. This is a low key event with the goal to get folks outside and explore this natural area in Charlotte Metro. More importantly, we will be welcoming M’s and 2.0’s for Halloween festivities starting at 9am. This will include a Trunk or Treat with candy and custom gathering in the parking lot from Truck to Truck. There will be pumpkins, customs, and refreshments.

Rain Out: We have to respect the trails, so in the event of trail closure we’ll modify the CSAUP to be on the paved trails that take us down to 485. We’re optimistic that won’t be the case. Be on the look out following the @f3metro handle for updates if rain is in the area.
