2 Minutes On Why Dahlia Grove
Gayle started Dahlia Grove 9 years ago in is a rather unique mission in Charlotte serving survivors of human trafficking and at times many other types of abuse (emotional, physical, sexual, mental and lots of substance abuse). This justice enterprise is a 2+ residential program partnered with their own highly successful catering business.While there are several programs that have their own way of helping this cause, none have the depth and breadth of DG. They serve the greater Charlotte region.
The women survivors are trying to start a life and restart a life start that is so broken they are “below breakeven”. They almost have no foundation to begin from…the trauma is massive and exacerbated by addictions, financial barriers, skill barriers, mental health, physical health and more. Dahlia Grove and the similar organizations the F33RD is supporting go where many don’t tread in trying to give the hope and the practical momentum back that these women lost or many never had. It’s a rough and tough caring effort for sure. As founder Gayle Smith puts it (as does their national sisterhood of similar organizations)….It’s All About Love.
WHY, PART 2
Yes, awareness and financial support are great objectives, But there are some other great reason. More Pax: F3 Gateway saw a noticeable rise in pax because of the spread of F3 and what we do with their campaign. Giving Back: Getting direct, “us” men are the reason this deplorable industry exists, so we can use our unique and powerful organization to take some sting out of human trafficking.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Easy, Just share with your Concentrica now. Share F3 Charlotte + Dahlia Grove links so folks can register. An event flyer for this F33rd partnership as well as a sponsorship flyer are done (both attached).
For Everybody: A beauty of this event is, while F3 pax clearly can participate, this really multiplies when you add to the many circles (your Concentrica!) in your lives: spouses, kids, employers, churches, schools, run clubs, and other social and business networks outside of our organizations to easily join up unites a collective effort will really ramp up the dollars, provide a great source of 3rd F pride for F3 and – as an indirect yet powerful benefit – give fuel for knowledge about what our fitness/leadership organizations are all about. Ask employers about signing up a company team and/or a sponsorship (we can modify some of the registration costs with meaningful sponsorships or corporate or other organization teams).
