Artificial Hills
The BackBlast:
Three men posted to Indy, looking to escape the grind of elevation and slope. Here’s what they did instead.
- Mosey to tunnel
- COP
- SSH x 20
- Imperial Walker x 20
- Prisoner’s Squat x 12
- Copperhead Squat x 12
- Mountain Climbers x 12
- Russian Twists x 20
- Mosey to the Castle
- Up the stairs to the top for 25 merkins and 25 jump squats, rinse & repeat x3;
- From the top, run down a full level (two lengths) in the garage, 25 LBCs at the south end, then run up one-length and back down three, again with 25 LBCs at each stop on the south end;
- To the staircase again, run up two flights, 15 merkins (alternating diamond and wide-arm), then run down one level (two lengths) of the garage, back into the staircase for up two flights (all told 12 flights up, 6 down, and 7 sets of merkins);
- Core work at the top where a brief COT was held at the 7:50 mark for a LIFO (who gets to remain nameless, given a good reason – kid’s soccer game)
- Remaining two mosey back to Indy Lot where joined by K9 Wags for two minutes of stretching (mostly downward dog).
YHC enjoyed meeting CSPAN and getting some 2nd F time along the way; kudos to both men for grinding today. All in, we logged 4.30 miles (mostly in a garage) and totaled – by my count – 33 flights of stairs in The Castle. So much for avoiding hills today….
