Concrete Jungle

The BackBlast:

There are certainly pro’s and Con’s of a brazillion people moving to Charlotte. One negative is that they’re taking away the Colony Enclave/Mountainbrook portal. We met at 0530 on a solidly gloomy Monday to tell the builders- NOT TODAY.

The Thang:
Mosey thru the church lot to right on Colony, down the hill. Stop every couple streets to assess Slum’s knee, COP, and some bear crawls… Down to bottom of hill and cross Colony into Enclave. Merkinfest in the cul-de-sac then carefully descend portal to Mountainbrook Swim Club… over to the jungle-less gym for pullups/squat rotation x 3 each… back out to Mountainbrook Rd and take a left. Receive report that Slum had returned to base. Change of plans: reverse course to base of “the big hill” for one climb… make our way back Mountainbrook Rd to Carmel Rd with stops for mary and merkins. Also a million merkin march at the end… left on Carmel Rd with a stop at that guy’s wall which is perfect for 7 guys doing wall sits while passing cars stare… back to AO to reunite with Slum and kill the last few mins (think Grayson Allen’s). Fin.

Moleskin:
This is at least the fourth run thru the Enclave to assess progress in the last ~3 years. So far, 2 houses are inhabited, 5 houses are on their way up, and our time is short on using the portal. We’re running out of greenspace… YHC didnt let Slum ease back into running. Only 2.9mi on the strava but it was hellacious hillacious. Hopefully no ill-effects as he gets back up to speed… Same sitch for RunStopper’s wrist and the heavy merkins today. Good luck gettin to 100%… pullups – check the box. 100:1 pushup to pullup ratio still holds.

Light on announcements, prayer requests for lost souls, and praise for Titan’s boy who is battling/beating cancer.
