Tardy Ring Run Q or WD?
AO: Ring Run
When: 08/24/2021
QIC: WhatDid
Number of Pax: 15
Pax Names: Benefactor, Chalet, Cold Cuts, Cracker, Egypt, Farmer, Grizzly, HE, Hollins, Magellan, Nabisco, Sprinkle, Tardy, Titan, WhatDid (QIC),
The BackBlast:
The weather was clear, 73 degrees, with humidity right around 90%. YHC was excited to post for the first time at RingRun as well as Q. I hear a little mumble chatter that Tardy, site Q, had the Q. He gives the 2-minute warning, then the 1-minute warning, and I’m thinking, man, he runs a tight ship. He’s getting the pax ready for YHC. Clock strikes 0530 and YHC takes the Q.
We open w/ 20 SSH. A true crowd-pleaser for this running crew. They were a little confused, Tardy was confused, but YHC had a plan, and we need to stick with it. With a full crowd of 15 present, no stragglers rolling in hot, we took off. The pax cheered as we ran – truly excited we weren’t doing a GR24 inspired workout.
We headed out of the back of Christ Church, down to Malvern. Stopping for instructions, which were to run up to Sharon, stopping at each speedbump for increasing hand release merkins, starting at 5 and adding 5 at each bump, all the way up to 20.
Then down Sharon to Chilton. Stopping and redirecting back up Sharon to the speedbump for 20 LBC. Then back down to Chilton. We were really cruising at this point. The pax were elated to be running, but they were fast. Had to slow this fast-moving crew down.
We crossed over Chilton, stopping at each speedbump to knock out burpees, starting at 5 and increasing by 5 all the way to QRE, finishing with 20 burpees. Pax was digging finally doing some work that got their keyboard fingers dirty.
From there we launched up towards Selwyn and made right to head down to Queens McColl B-school steps. Time for some dips and derkins. Count didn’t matter at this point – something about 15 each.
Continued down Selwyn/Queens to the Goldman. Two long-running legs to appease the true RingRun crowd. Stopping at Goldman for some quick mary. Then, down Hopedale to knock out 20 LBC and back up to Goldman.
Picked up the six and headed down Providence, making a R on Oxford and stopping at Hampton for some heals to heaven. This was, or maybe not, a crowd-pleaser. I believe Tardy is reviewing if H2H is approved for exercises for RingRun. Today they were, next week they may not be. I’ll leave that to SiteQ.
We collected ourselves and headed down Hampton, stopping to sync up for a jailbreak finish to the EndEx.
NMM
- Tardy has been site Q for 3 years, that’s a long time. He kept asking me to take SiteQ and so much as assigned it to me. I take that as a good feedback on my Qskill, or the fact that nobody else wants it. For clarity, I DECLINED the promotion. However, I encourage one of the men of RingRun to step up and lead. Relieve Tardy of his duties – he’s getting old and forgetting who’s on Q.
- Strong group of guys looking to run. 15 was a big number, so the historians were telling me. But I saw a few of my GrowRuck and ShoreCard brothers out there – Titan, Cold Cuts, Hollins. Now that we’re swole, we’re trying to get our cardio back. Maybe that helped to drive up the #’s.
- Being my first time at this AO, I saw pax I haven’t seen in a long while. Pax like Farmer, Benefactor, and Cracker. This reminds me the importance of switching up our AO’s, connecting with pax from various AO’s, and keeping our morning routine fresh.
- Shameless plug for shieldlocks…men. I took the opportunity to grab a cup of coffee w/ Grizzly to fit in our shieldlock. Schedules have been tough, but that’s our life as HIM’s. Make sure you’re taking time to keep yourself accountable – it’s uncomfortable and that’s why we’re better off for it.
Prayers:
- Treekiller lost his teenaged 2.0. The family is managing and needs our prayers. Please send them their way.
- For our kids as they start school – keep them safe, encouraged them to learn, and pray that their teachers have the support needed to create a great learning environment.
- Post AO prayer, please keep Mallard’s M in your prayers. She’s been diagnosed with terminal cancer. More to come on how we can rally around Mallard and his family.
Tardy – Thank you for giving me the keys to RingRun. You’re a HIM that keeps delivering –eventually, you’ll find ya new SiteQ – until then keep doing what you’re doing.
Aye!
