The BackBlast:
How would you spend the last hour of your life? How about spending it saving 18 people on the 78th floor of the South Tower of the WTC from imminent death. This is what Wells Remy Crowther, at 24 years of age, did on September 11th only to perish with a group of firefighters when the South Tower collapsed.
So on 11/1 we celebrated his heroism by participating in the Virtual Welles Remy Crowther Red Bandanna 5K Run during Confession. This run is held annually at this time of year at Welles’ alma mater Boston College. Check out the details below for more information.

So this is what we did:
Warmed up remembering Welles and what he did that fateful day. Awesome story of leadership and courage! Moseyed from our AO (Manor Theatre on Providence Road) around the corner to Cherokee Road. We started as a group and ran the following 5K course:
- Straight on Cherokee
- Left on Fenton
- Right on Colville
- Left on Scotland
- Right on Biltmore
- Right back on Cherokee
- Left on Fenton
- Left just before Providence Road into Blossom Shop – finish here.
Ernie dominated this soggy run from the start with the rest of us gainfully trying to catch up with him.
COT: With gratitude for men like Welles. May we have the courage, tenacity and faith to lead as Welles did when we are called upon.
Shared coffee, water, and pastries outside by the Manor Theatre. Great way to spend a Sunday morning!
With gratitude – RM
