Chasing the Rabbit

The BackBlast:

Today was Body Bag’s virgin Q. Given he has some rhythm and counting issues, he decided to lead the Pax on a journey through the surrounding neighborhoods (South End and Dilworth). Rose was quick to plug the Punch Bowl workout on Tuesday’s at 5:45 pm in the South End.

We started out with some basic warm up exercises and then it was time to “chase the rabbit” (LLC) to Suffolk Punch. No beer was served instead a round of wall sits was on the menu. Every member of the Pax took turns counting to ten. Odin was the last counter, and his definition of 10 seconds is eternity. After a couple more exercises, we got the check, and the rabbit took off to Remount Rd.

When the Pax arrived at Remount Rd, we were greeted by LLC and the FNG (Goose) planking (props to them for doing EC). Who knew geese were that fast! We completed some other exercises and then released the rabbit from his cage again.

We were on a “roll” but stopped at Oku to see what was on the menu. Unfortunately, it was closed so Misenheimer served up some group planks to paid homage to Scrooge. After a round of calve raises (it is shorts season after all), the rabbit got away again.

The Pax ventured down McDonald Ave and were reunited at the base of Sedgefield Middle School. It was time for some hill “sprints” coupled with merkins and burpees. LLC led the way with a frown on his face since WhatDid was missing and he couldn’t best him.

We headed back to the AO. We clocked in at 3.5 miles total with some solid beatdowns along the way.

From there, we named the FNG. He received the name “Goose” not for his goofiness but rather the time he served in The Navy. Our resident pastor, TigerDawg, took us out with a prayer and we were all on our way.

P.S. Don’t worry Beethoven has promised to give Body Bag some basic music / rhythm lesson so he will be “on Q” next time.
