The BackBlast:

F3 Metro King of the Hills 2022 (aka “KOH2022”)

Just when you thought we may have forgotten to plan accordingly, we are pleased to announce the 3rd Installment of the F3 Metro King of the Hills.

Mostly due to the fact that I am not as smart as Sheep and Foxx, we are going to go back to a more simple scoring system. Basically the plan will be choose your team, choose your captain, and run the routes as fast as you can during the allotted time. Simple but effective. Oh…. there is also a new route… more on that below.

Dates: May 14-15, 2022

6 Man teams – each man runs/rucks all 3 legs for a total of 18.27 miles

Just like the last 2 years, this is an OYO event, meaning each team/individual will make their own schedule for running the three legs, record and submit your times. You have from 12:00AM Saturday May 14 – 12:00PM May 15 to complete all three routes.

McHorsey -5.43 miles (https://www.strava.com/routes/27028736)

Bonesaw x10 – 5.27 miles (https://www.strava.com/segments/24289379)

Due to last year’s Sunday morning ‘Muthship problem, we are launching a new route… it is 7.38 miles and gathers approximately 600ft of elevation…

Selwyn Arches – 7.38 miles (https://www.strava.com/routes/2935721856325108184)

The winning teams from each division (Ruck/Run) get to sleep with the Runners Trophy and the Rucker’s Log until we are dumb enough to do this again in 2023.

To participate:

Organize yourself into teams of 6 and select a team captain.

Join the Strava club we created (works with Free version of Strava), the F3 Metro King of The Hills CSAUP 2022 (https://www.strava.com/clubs/F3MetroKOH2022). This will serve two purposes; 1) evidence you actually ran/rucked the routes 2) leaderboard for real-time individual results.

Once your Team Captain has been identified, contact me (Pitino) to sign up, the deadline to register is 5/8/22. I will add teams to a Google sheet and prior to race day, provide access to team captains. But for now, let’s get the teams together and start training.
