The BackBlast:
Lately, to say the workout Mission I’m Possible (MIP) is #rising is an understatement. You can expect ~40 PAX there at 0900 ready to go in the Community Matters Parking lot each Saturday. To my left, a FNG brother battling addiction and finding his way through the Rebound program. To his side, a man who has completed the program, and is back to keep that man from slipping back into addiction. To my right, a F3 brother on his second workout after posting at Revolution an hour ago to invest in the West Charlotte community. In front of me my 11year old 2.1 Simba who can’t get enough of F3 and is on his 5th straight MIP post. Across the way, my whetstone stone, and next to him, one of my best friends who made the drive from Waxhaw. Another F3 brother and his 11yr old 2.0. My Bible study group members, and other several men that YHC has looked up to for years. MIP is indeed rising. And the energy for this workout is reaching high-grade plutonium levels.
And on this morning, YHC fed off this workout’s energy and decided to change things up. No, we didn’t run to Romare Bearden Park (the long way) and exceed the time limit for the workout by 15min (which may or may not happened a previous lead by YHC). We (40? of us) stayed together as one cohesive group, and made our way from the AO to the parking deck across from Panthers Stadium. The focus was on core exercises, and stressing your body through tension exercises… planking variations over 2 miles. And while that’s what we did, the purpose was to buy some time to talk about F3 Nation, what we’re about, why we do it, what we believe, and reflect on how that relates to each of us. Often times, some of us that have been in F3 forget that newer guys may not know the culture, and what we believe. And since the MIP PAX have now been coming out strong the past few weeks, what better way to learn that F3 is more than a Saturday 0900 workout. Much more. Know what you believe, what you stand for, why you do what you do. Write it down on paper, in your heart, say it out loud. Say it with conviction. In F3 this is what we believe, and a good reminder to all F3 Nation PAX:
The 3 F’s in F3 Nation stand for: Fitness, Fellowship and Faith
The F3 MISSION is to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for men, for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The F3 Nation Credo is: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.
The 5 Core Principles in F3 (in order are): 1) all workouts free of charge 2) All workouts are open to all men 3) All workouts are held outdoors 4) All workouts are peer led by men in a rotating fashion 5) all workouts end in a Circle Of Trust (COT)
It was a honor to lead you men this morning. Special thanks to Rev Flo-Rida who let me steal his Q, and to Beaver, Valdez, Carrier, Marv, and all the men who have sacrificed their time to invest in the success of this workout and initiative.
Lastly, if you’re the visual type, here’s a video of the MIP workout and Charlotte Rescue Mission that was put together around this time last year for the Come To The Table Dinner.
