The whole point of
The whole point of going to Mission I am possible is to provide a service to the men there who are in the midst of recovery and to give them 45 minutes of hard stuff that is not tailored specifically to them. In other words it’s a time where they get to be one of the guys. You’re not different you’re not special you’re just one of the guys . Which ought to be enough reason to go. It’s a great place to be a service it’s a great workout you’re in a fun part of the city we have parks and parking lots at stadiums in it oughta be enough just for the reasons. But the truth is I go and by the way so does monkey feet just for the nicknames. Because you get so many fng’s at Mission Impossible the real reason I go is the awesome opportunity to give somebody their nickname. And this week was no exception. More on that later.
So this workout started off like all the others. With the standard. Cuz even though I go for the opportunity to give away nicknames the standard still is the standard. Then we moseyed over to the big parking lot and did some four corner stuff. It’s a good idea to do four corners at MIP because the numbers are unreal now. It’s no big deal to have 30 people show up at a workout. And with covid-19 to do the right thing with social distancing. So we did some four corners and then we did some rock work and then we did some more four corners and then we ran home.
Lucky for me we had three FNG that came to the workout. Unlucky you for me and for monkey feet the nicknames came out so quickly and they were so good that we didn’t have a chance to do that super creative thing we do where we come up with some Gilbert and Sullivan reference or somehow tie their nickname back to some type of feminine hygiene product. Instead the guy from Joplin Missouri got named Janice. The guy from Monroe got named Marilyn. And the guy who tried to give himself the nickname Africa got named Nala. In my mind all fantastic nicknames but man I was sad that I didn’t get to participate. Monkey feet got so mad he got up and left and says he’s never coming back. We know monkey feet will come back because that’s his heart. He comes all the time. Just like I do it’s a great place to be.
