SIB: Back in business + announcement
The BackBlast:
OK this is a multi-week SIB backblast. 3 straight weeks since official opening of NC and SIB. Pax totals have been 2,3,3. Snots has shown up twice. Apparently some are shifting their Tuesday running to a later time slot. Some pax trying to “socialize” an 0545 start time. Based on my own informal poll of the pax who’ve been showing up – almost unanimous that 0515 works. Don’t question my sampling methodology!!! Still determining whether we make a accommodation there – stay tuned.
SIB is pretty good place for maintaining physical distance from other pax – small crew and varying speeds. (And yes, the term is physical distance. I’m not sure who thinks “social distance” is what we are doing. Let’s be clear: “Social Distance” is when two roommates start college – one of them is a first gen college student whose single mom cleaned floors at the country club to make ends meet… while the other roommate is 3rd gen member of said country club whose surname is on a building at the college. That, my friends, is social distance.)
Something about working out….oh yes
Here are the last 3 SIB workouts:
Timed intervals with Snots (1st) and Nash (last) – started with 30 secs – then 1 min, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30 (think we did 3 min a couple of times?). Then back down. Recovery on shorter intervals = 30 secs, longer intervals = 1min. Chasing Snots is difficult.
Hills with Merrill and Sub4 (and Nash). Run a bunch of Barclays Downs hill – Fellsway, Hatherly, Wintercrest and Scofield.
Distance intervals – Nash, Snots, Ewok – Carnegie (interval)/Congress (recovery) – 4 long/4 short/2 long/2 short. All hard.
We will do it again at 0515 on 6/9.
I’m out of town on 6/16 – Q spot is open!
6/23 – consideration being given to 0545 start. Watch this space for updats.
