The BackBlast:

I almost forgot. I need to write a back-blast. Why? Because it would be a crime to let Rev have the last word.

Usually, I can ignore commentary from the Pax. Most of it comes from Nibbler anyway. With Nibbler, you know you’re going to get shit. You mentally prepare yourself for it; and you get thru it.

Today, when I got there, no Nibbler! I thought, “Piece of cake. This will be a low-shit kind of day.” Until Rev showed up.

45 minutes of unrelenting bitching. Seem he had complaints about the music. Didn’t like the Spinners. Didn’t like Merle Haggard. Even bitched about Yes! Unbelievable.

But I recovered because of the last song. Although it came up randomly, it was the perfect rebuttal.

I know something about Rev. He wants you to believe he is an American. But his real name is José Jadlito. (In Spanish, the J is pronounced like an “H”.)

His parents crossed-over the border from Mexico surreptitiously. Remember how he always has us do “Tijuana Dreamers’? Is it starting to make sense? Stay with me.

They fled to Ohio to escape charges of sheep rustling in New Mexico. Yep. That story he tells about his father and the pregnant ewe.

Anyway, Rev had no natural talent for sheep-rustling. If he was going to make in this world, he was going to have to go to college.

But he had really baaaaaaaaad SAT scores. So he changed his name to ‘Brain Hadley’. He was counting on the people in admission thinking “with a name like Brain, he must be real smart!” It worked.

Like I said; the reason I was able to deal with 45 minutes of undiluted Horseshit from the Rev was the last song today. By the Left Bank.
