The BackBlast:

Many showed up on Saturday morning to bask in what they thought would be a leisurely stroll through Latta park. Lots of imperial walkers, bear crawls and maybe some snakes in the grass. Instead, we got hit with an old school dual lead with L10 leading the 1st 30 minutes and Sausage taking the 2nd 30 minutes.
What We Did –
L10 lead us down Park to the St. Pats parking deck for some warmups. We were joined by A Red Fox. Did you think I meant the F3 Red Fox? The 4-legged animal just sat and watched us do some SSH’s, merkins, LBCs and Imperial Walkers. I would assume F3 Red Fox is hanging with Alcatraz doing something they think is really special because they live in Cotswold.
We left the red fox and backtracked to the base of Dilworth Rd West where we partnered up. Partner 1 does 5 Carolina Dry Docks and partner 2 backwards run up Park. Partner 1 chases partner 2 down and switches. We did this all the way to Myrtle.
Mosey to Dilworth Elementary parking lot – 3 trips around the long island – linebacker shuffles, karaoke, lunge walk.
Latta walk to the DWE playground. Where we did 10 pulls, 20 dips then run to balls for 10 derkins and 10 jump ups. Repeat 3 times.
Gather for some Mary
Surprise – Sausage takes the 2nd 30 minutes and sprints to Euclid and heads to the YMCA deck.
Gather at bottom of deck, then run up the ramps to top.
At top – Squats, Side Lunges, Backwards Lunges and merkins.
Down the stairs and run around deck to front of Deck. Run back up the ramps to top.
Repeat Squats, Side Lunges, Backwards Lunges and merkins and add some wall sits
Down the stairs again and run down Lexington to Myrtle. Partner up again and finish the hour like we started – except instead of dry docks, we did merkins.
Finished with some Mary on the grinder.
Moleskin –
11 showed up Sausage and L10 lead Cream Cheese, Skyline, Glad Hander, Khloe, Jack Nasty, 40 Thieves, Runaround, Dos Equis and Tassels
We totaled 3.8 miles, but heart rates were pushed during the partner runs. What maybe most surprising is that L10’s 30 minutes totaled 2 miles and Sausage’s only 1.8.
Loved splitting the workout – back in the day, that was the norm and most of the time the 2 leaders had no idea what the other had planned. So, the 2nd leader had to be quick on his feet in case lead 1 took his workout. You also had no idea where the 1st 30 minutes would end.
During warmups, it dawned on Runaround that he could do all these exercises at home. And it dawned on Tassels that if he did these at home, Tassels could do it for free instead of Venmoing Skyline every month.
Lots of chatter about the upcoming F3 Olympics. It sounds like many are planning their excuses for not winning – they claim they “play real sports and not try to be the best at exercising”.
Tassels’s beef about baby boomers and gen-xers earning home equity was priceless.
No special guests at coffee.
I had to do this damn back-blast twice. I was almost finished typing this on my phone and then it just disappeared. That is why I am late sending this.
Happy Easter and Passover to everyone.
Conserve your energy this week, Nash has the lead next Saturday.
